Nasser Hussain on Sachin Tendulkar: Tendulkar is the greatest batsman of All Time

Nasser Hussain a former English captain write in his column in English news paper that he ranks Sachin Tendulkar above Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting. Hussain said I dislike comparison and never compared great batsmen but after the magnificent performance of Sachin Tendulkar against South Africa in which he made first double hundred in the history of One Day Internationals he think Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest batsmen of all time. In his innings against South Africa’s well coordinated bowling attack he played pure cricketing shots with aggressive stroke play all around the ground and made that dream possible. Tendulkar scored most runs than any other batsmen in test matches as well as in One Day Internationals and scored most centuries than any other batsmen in both formats.

Nasser Hussain, a Cricketer of Asian Origin

Nasser Hussain is a right handed batsman of Asian origin who played for English national team. He was an inconsistent batsman and great fielder. His father and brother also played cricket at first class level but never get a chance for playing at International level. He starts his cricket career in 1980 with Essex. Several other players like, Mike Atherton, Mark Ramprakash, Graham Thorpe and Trevor Ward also played with or against him. He up lift the English team in late 1990 when they in deep trouble and because of his brilliance in captaincy he was able to won 3 consecutive back to back series in home and away tours for England.  The most impressive thing in his batting as well captaincy was calmness something that always visible in his batting and in his thinking as a captain.

Nasser Hussain, a Muslim captain of England Cricket Team

Nasser Hussain is a son of madrasi born Indian Muslim Jawad Hussain and first Muslim captain of England. His family was move to England in 1975. He was a leg spinner but at the age of fifteen he grew a foot injury and after that he was not able to bowl. In order to continue his cricket he focuses on his batting and with the passage of time and support of his father he becomes a good batsman. He was a captain of Essex under-16 team when he scored 1000 runs in a session and become a first player to do so since 1901. Nasser Hussain made his test debut in 1990 against West Indies. England won that test match but lost the series and Hussain was dropped from the England side on the basis of inconsistent performance. He returned to English side in 1993 ashes test series and scored 71 and 47 not out in the third test. He was dropped after the ashes series and then selected for English side in 1996 against India. He promoted at no. 3 position and scored 128 in first innings after the promotion and awarded man of the match award. In last test of that series he also made another century and received man of the series award in that summer as well.
