Nasser Hussain a former English captain write in his column in English news paper that he ranks Sachin Tendulkar above Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting. Hussain said I dislike comparison and never compared great batsmen but after the magnificent performance of Sachin Tendulkar against South Africa in which he made first double hundred in the history of One Day Internationals he think Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest batsmen of all time. In his innings against South Africa’s well coordinated bowling attack he played pure cricketing shots with aggressive stroke play all around the ground and made that dream possible. Tendulkar scored most runs than any other batsmen in test matches as well as in One Day Internationals and scored most centuries than any other batsmen in both formats.
Hussain said by considering the records and statistics of Tendulkar in his opinion he is better batsmen than Sir Viv Richards, Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border. He then further goes to say that he even think Tendulkar is better batsman then Sir Don Bardman as well. He says Tendulkar is playing cricket for 20 years and still by watching him you can see the enthusiasm and passion of the game which is trade mark of his attitude towards the game throughout his career. With this innings he has achieved everything a cricketer can dream during his long and well served career. He said only if something left for Tendulkar to achieve it will be the hundred in the World Cup final and take Indian team to victory.
